Been away for awhile? Check out old newsletters in the Archive !

It is Thanksgiving week so things around camp are winding down for a little time off. We are getting the last of the leaves off the ground and preparing for the lake to drop down. Every 4 to 5 years they lower the level of Lake Summit for dock repair. We plan on fixing up the Green Cove canoe dock, replacing the I-dock here at Mondamin and doing a little repair to some floats under some of the other docks. I would have pictures of a muddy lake bottom but the rain just keeps coming and the lake is still full.

Erich Burton, Jon Evans, and a friend from Gainesville,Fl stopped by this past weekend. They rode the trails of DuPont. Erich and Bobby Dowling completed their 3500 mile bike tour of the western US and Canada. They ended with Halloween in Kernville, CA at John and Cherie Jones' house. I think they were offered a few jobs there but they say they will be here in the summer. We will hold them to it.

I don't know if I posted this picture of Bobby in front of a small dump truck but here it is.

We have also been traveling a lot. We have been to Louisville and Lexington, KY. I saw Grayson Eldridge in Lexington. We have been to Tupelo, MS and Alabama. I want to thank the Thagards for giving us a framed piece to remember Courtland by. We will have it in Taj for the summer. We have also been around NC a good bit. I saw the Hardys in Wilmington and Robert went to Charlotte and Davidson. We also did a big trip to Texas, Louisianna, and southern Alabama. We saw Henry and Peter Adams in Houston. Bill Felder was in Dallas as well as Heys McAnulty. Drake Coleman showed us a good time Abilene.

Keep checking the travel schedule to see when we are coming to you.

David Bell recently got married. His bride's name is Yijun, pronounced "e-june". Frank, Nancy, Andrew, Sarah, Nathan and Calla all went over to join in the celebration. We met her family who all live in Taipei, Taiwan. She also has some family living in the USA so there are many options for the long range future. Of course she is a wonderful woman. She works with museums and children's programs to design interactive flash based websites. Yijun's father went to Harvard with the now president of Taiwan, who was one of the guests.
Senior Bath House Update:
The building has been expanded and we are ready to put in the concrete floor. Shower stalls are standing ready.
