The
last weekend of September found an enthusiastic group of paddlers
out for a weekend of fun and learning, under the guidance of
Gordon Grant, at the 20th Scholarship Foundation fundraiser.
After
prying a few individuals out of their sleeping bags on Saturday
morning (geez, girls, it was 38 degrees... not even freezing!!!),
we spent a couple of hours fine tuning strokes and rolling technique
on the lake, then went to a section of the French Broad near
Asheville for more practise. It warmed up quickly...
wonderful fall weather! The
second day we went to another section of the FB (Section 9),
where there were plenty of challenges for everyone. Quite a few
great combat rolls, no swims, more fun than should be legally
allowed!
Next
clinic: first weekend in May, '07: May 4 - 6. Keep it centered, and see
you then!
