Gettin' Chilly

Been away for awhile? Check out old newsletters in the Archive !

Fall is really here. We have had many groups here at camp recently. Will Yieser (former paddling staff) and David Byers had the new 6th grade class of French Broad River Academy here. Check out the mega swing on youtube. David Clarke has stayed around to help with this group and some others. He is off paddling some of the good NC creeks after the last few weeks of good rain. Shea D'Anna has also been working these groups and continues to make appearances in western NC.

Camp has turned into a nudist colony for the Bell babies. Lindsey is swimming in the deep water and Ian loves anything that is big and loud, mostly tractors. Star Wiesel, married to former sailing head Vic Wiesel, came by with their new baby Max.

Many of the boats and bikes that we used in the summer have found new homes this year. That means new boats and bikes for next summer! If you are looking for a great deal on one for yourself, give us a call or email. We'll hook you up. You can check out the Items For Sale page to see what we have.

We are starting to travel now, hopefully we will see you soon! Keep checking the travel schedule to see when we are coming to you.

We are remodeling the senior bath house. Hello shower stalls and an open floor plan!
Chief's North and South got a new deck. We will also add some more lighting and give it a good paint job.

First Fall Update

Camp is quiet again, we already miss everyone.

Andrew and Robert took their families sailing on Tuesday but otherwise the waterfront has been quiet. The bike shed is still seeing some movement as Bobby and Erich get ready to begin their bike touring trip across the western US and Canada. They have also been doing some final clean-up around camp like putting the musical equipment away and sorting the last of the lost and found. Keep an eye out for pictures of some of the items still here, you might see that pair of shoes you are missing.

We will see a few more groups come through camp this fall. Programs like the French Broad River Academy, a sixth grade school started by Mondamin’s own Will Yeiser and David Byers, use camp for some school season adventure. The Dirt Divas, a Charlotte based group of mountain bike riders will also be at Green Cove for a weekend.

Soon we will be traveling to different parts of the county to talk about camp. We hope to see you there!
