Mondamin Alumni!

100 years ago Chief set off to find the first group of Mondamin Campers. The first session was in 1922 and had a fraction of the number of campers that we now have at camp every summer. It was the start of an amazing adventure. It’s time to celebrate! As you know, we celebrated Mondamin’s 100th Summer last year and had to postpone the 100th Anniversary Celebration. 2022 will be Mondamin’s 101st summer and the Anniversary of it’s beginning.

We are excited to have the 100th Anniversary Celebration on Labor Day Weekend along with Alumni Camp. I first came to Mondamin from South Louisiana as a camper in 1979 and spent the next 9 summers here all the way through our Counselor In Training program. While attending Tulane University, I was a counselor each summer and have now been on the year-round staff for over 30 years. Before joining the year-round staff, I spent time both in teaching and child psychology. .

My wife, Susan, spent eight years on staff at our sister camp, Green Cove, and we have two girls and a boy all of whom have attended Green Cove and Mondamin, respectively.
